Greek lentil soupe


This is a recipe a friend gave us I hope you like it.

* 2 cups uncooked lentils

* 8 cups water

* 1 eighth teaspoon celery seed

* 2 teaspoons salt

* 1 bay leaf

* Half of a union chopped

* 1 carrot chopped

* 1 celery stalk chopped

* 2 potatoes chopped

* Half a cup of uncooked rice optional


Mix together all ingredients. Bring to a boil then simmer until lentils are soft, about 1 and a half hours. You can serve it plain or with cheddar cheese grated on top.  Enjoy your Greek lentil soup that’s almost everything free, Megan.
